rambla, a stylish and relaxed cafe bistro in Windermere is an ideal Lakes destination whether you're after a quiet coffee, a filling breakfast, a tasty lunch or a memorable evening meal. We specialise in home made, contemporary British and European cuisine using fresh local produce.

Proprietors are husband and wife Nathan and Hannah Davies and business partner James Byrne who have lived in Cumbria all their lives and have long held a passion to create a restaurant which specialises in home made dishes in a contemporary setting.  James, who was previously head chef at Avanti in Kirkby Lonsdale, has already made a name for himself in the area and continues to impress with his creative style and culinary skills.

Showcasing Suzanne Stuart Davies

rambla bistro is showcasing the work of Suzanne Stuart Davies, an artist who lived and worked in South Lakeland from 1979 until 1998 and continues to have strong links with the area. Her new ‘Lakes Paintings’ bring together observation and memory and strongly represent the way the weather and the light can change throughout one day’s hill walk.

We are also exhibiting ceramics by Julian Francis, a Scottish artist whose work is influenced by organic forms and shapes.
